Adventure Begins At Your Library!
The Public Library of Johnston County and Smithfield is excited to launch its 2024 Teen Summer Reading Program with the theme of "Adventure Begins at Your Library." The library will have weekly events in June, July, and August. Teen's activities and programs are geared towards rising 6th through 12th graders. See the information below for more details.
Reading Logs & Stamp Cards

Reading logs and stamp cards will be available beginning June 3rd, 2024 at the Patron Services Desk.

Reading logs and stamp cards will be available throughout the summer.

Participants will use the reading logs at home to track their progress towards meeting reading goals and earning stamps.

Participants can earn a stamp for every hour of reading time.

Participants can also earn a stamp for each library program/ event attended.

Stamps and stamp cards will be used as entries to win a Nintendo Switch Lite. The more stamps you earn, the better your chances are to win the grand prize!

The deadline to turn in all reading logs and stamp cards is August 26th, 2024.

Grand prize winners will be announced on August 27th, 2024.

We have many fun events planned this summer for teens. Summer Reading officially kicks off on June 10th for teens! Below you will find our summer reading program calendars for June through August.
Please note the following about our events and calendars:

Some events require registration and will be marked with a red "R" on the calendar. To register for events, please use direct links (found on our website calendar or listed on this document), scan the QR code, or email Skye at SPoole@pljcs.org.
